Why the Alt-Right isn’t the Answer

The neo-Marxist left keeps pushing their identity politics to new extremes. I guess being “progressive” means ever pushing in one direction, never mind if that direction is over a cliff! But the more they divide and conquer every segment of America, the more they push those on the outside of their target audience into a corner. Pushed to the margins, the much-demeaned males first, and now even the “Beckies” and “Karens” out there begin to feel that they are backed into a corner. That’s where the less reflective among them may find the enticements of the Alt-Right beginning to make sense. When identity politics has reached its logical extreme, those who can’t play any identity cards on the left of the spectrum will find their only answer by going to the other extreme. Once the only thing that is important is ethnic identity, then white nationalism becomes the absolute logical choice for someone who just so happens (through no fault of their own, mind you) to be white.

Of course, all this is ridiculous nonsense. The category “white” is just as much an artificial cultural construct as any such identity: more so, actually, since it is a reactionary one, not a natural category with anything like a real heritage behind it. Nothing good has ever come of making too much, one way or another, of melanin levels. But… What the Alt-Right just doesn’t get is that they are only playing on the Neo-Marxist Left’s turf, and it’s a field no one should want to play on. It’s a field where agenda trumps truth, grievance trumps justice and identity trumps principles. The Neo-Marxist Left and the Neo-Nazi Right are singing discordant harmonies to the same hymnbook. The music it makes is a world where hatred trumps love.
